Wrestling/No Gi Jiu-Jitsu/Submission Grappling

Wrestling is a martial art that uses grappling type techniques such as clinch fighting, throws and takedowns, joint locks, pins and other grappling holds. A wrestling bout is a physical competition, between two (occasionally more) competitors or sparring partners, who attempt to gain and maintain a superior position. There are a wide range of styles with varying rules with both traditional historic and modern styles. Wrestling techniques have been incorporated into other martial arts as well as military hand-to-hand combat systems.Youth and adults can have great fun in learning how to wrestle as a stand alone sport and fitness activity. They can also use wrestling to supplement the other martial arts, and combative sports they train in such as MMA, Judo, and Jiu-Jitsu.Tghis is what we do. As you will see in MMA events, most champions come from strong wrestling backgrounds. In No Gi jiujitsu modify some of our jiujitsu techniques to work without a gi, and some do work regardless. We combine wrestling techniques into the mix. We also blend in judo techniques that can be used without the assistance of a gi (uniform). We look for opportunities during a training match to catch, and control, and submit our training partner. These hybrid, best practice training method in these matches becomes, quick, and action packed. The combat conditioning aspect of this training method produces great positive fitness and combat movement training which can be used at real speed.
